According to PhoCusWright’s 2010 Social Media in Travel, shoppers who visit hotel review pages on travel sites are twice as likely to convert. A separate survey conducted by e-consultancy/Bazaarvoice with 360 e-commerce websites found that adding user reviews resulted in an increase in conversions for 56% of the sites, traffic increased for 77%, and the average shopping cart basket increased for 42%.
